We are open Wed to Sun 10am to 5pm during April, May and June
(and Sept and Oct)

7 days in July and August

  •   We visited in September 2017 and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The castle is well presented by a group of local volunteers. You can learn a lot about the history of the area, and the people who lived in and visited the castle.

Braemar Castle is a gem set within the Cairngorms. Beautifully preserved and presented to the public, visitors walk through history as they visit the rooms within. I highly recommend a guided tour, especially if it is from Colin. Most of the rooms are just as...More

We found the castle cold inside but quite an interesting visit. Be prepared to climb stairs to see the inner rooms and the exhibits. Well worth a visit if you are visiting Braemar.

We took the audio tour or this well preserved castle and thoroughly enjoyed it. Although the history of the castle goes back to the Bonny Prince's time, the castle is set up to depict the early to mid 20th century. Very well laid out and...More

  •   Being members of the NTS we are a bit mean when it comes to having to pay to visit an independent attraction. However, at £8 pp for adults £7 concession we thought it could be good value and we were not disappointed. Parking is a...More

A pleasant and interesting castle that's well worth a visit. It's clear that it's a labour of love for the volunteers that are working hard to restore the place to its former glory. We were a little disappointed that there wasn't a guided tour, which...More
