Our collection packing work in preparation for our conservation and re-development project “Raising the Standard” continues and we encountered items in our collection which required us more work to ensure their safe storage. Here at Braemar Castle we are fortunate to have quite a large collection of prints and paintings, some of which are too big in size to be stored in a box and too ornate to stand on their base. This required the installation of two A frames in our Dining Room, which will be used for storage of large paintings. The wooden frames will prevent the paintings from getting damaged by the humidity and dust by lifting them from the floor and allowing the air to circulate. #RaisingtheStandard #conservation #painting #collectioncare
