Volunteering at Braemar Castle is what so many Braemar people do! Since the community took over the operation of the Castle in 2007, many thousands of volunteer hours have been contributed in so many ways. Guiding visitors round the Castle, operating the Castle shop, tending the courtyard garden, researching the history, taking part in historical re-enactment, providing photographs, producing video, fundraising – the list is endless. And there are countless opportunities for learning new skills in conservation, research, social media. But above all, it’s great fun! We all enjoy sharing local knowledge of this special part of the Cairngorms National Park with our visitors from both home and overseas.
