Younger Visitors

The Castle is not open but there's lots of fun to be had in the grounds!

Try out the grass spiral - how many steps to the centre?  Or run round all the paths, the Colonel Anne paths, The Earl of Mar paths and the Black Colonel paths - how many steps?  A lot!

And we look forward to welcoming inside once again in the not too distant future.

In the Castle there is have plenty to keep children entertained! We have a teddy-bear hunt, a picture quiz and an audio guide quiz all included in the admission price. Just ask at the ticket desk, and our staff will be happy to provide. Keep an eye on our programme of events - most of these are family friendly and involve extra surprises for the children!

Dependent on space in the shop, we are very happy for you to keep buggies and prams with us so you can enjoy your tour. It is recommended you leave backpack baby carriers in the shop too before embarking on your tour - there are very low doors around the castle, and this makes carrying a raised baby carrier on your back very dangerous!

Pre-school children are admitted into the castle for free
